Safety is our #1 value at Sundance Helicopters. Everything we do, whether aviation or non-aviation, will be filtered through our safety standard. We are committed to developing, implementing, and improving strategies, management systems and processes to ensure that all of our activities uphold the highest level of safety and meet or exceed national and international standards.
The only thing you have to worry about is getting a perfect snapshot.
We have the ability to constantly monitor and pinpoint the location of our helicopters 24/7 through its dedicated aircraft satellite tracking system.
aircraft maintenance quality assurance
Going well beyond any FAA requirement for our type of operation, we have implemented a formal Maintenance Quality Assurance program. The function of this dedicated QA program is to ensure that all critical aircraft maintenance tasks are thoroughly checked, double-checked, and properly documented.
training, testing & monitoring
We put our pilots and maintenance technicians through extensive education and training that goes well beyond FAA requirements. The quality of training is verified through rigorous testing, and followed up with performance monitoring systems.
FAA Diamond Award for Excellence Recipient
Sundance Helicopters’ maintenance team received the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) “Diamond Award” of excellence for participating in the William (Bill) O’Brien Aviation Maintenance Technician Awards Program. The program encourages employers to participate in continuous-learning training programs in aviation maintenance, regulations and FAA regulations and awards are given to a select few corporations that have reached the highest level of program criteria.
We have been a member of Tour Operators Program of Safety (T.O.P.S.) for more than 10 years. T.O.P.S. members place safety above all else as their number one priority and carry the mission of making helicopter sightseeing tours among the safest type of flying today.
We are currently engaged in the highly regarded International Standards for Business Operations (IS-BAO) certification process. IS-BAO has long been the global gold standard for international fixed-wing business aviation operations. The IS-BAO organization has recently developed stringent standards specifically designed to bring helicopter operations to the same level of sophistication, and is deeply rooted in the Safety Management System philosophy.
For more than 20 years, Sundance Helicopters has been an approved U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) service provider. As a prerequisite to doing business in support of the United States military, the DOD Commercial Airlift Review Board rigorously examines, and continuously monitors flight operations, maintenance, quality assurance, and safety. In each instance, Sundance Helicopters has successfully demonstrated its ability to conduct safe and reliable operations.
